How CSP Works

The Children’s S.C.R.A.P. Project collects waste from businesses for free; eliminating waste sent to landfill and saving money for businesses. Health and safety check take place and materials are displayed in our warehouse for members to take back to their groups for education and play after collection.

Designed like a supermarket, members select materials from shelves and barrels such as fabric, plastic, card, paper, toys, comics, wood off-cuts, office furniture, stationary, etc…

All these materials and many more are stored in our warehouse for distribution to schools, playgroups, etc. for use in learning and play.

Remember that collection is completely free for donors wishing to donate any of their scrap materials and any items for education and play which would be useful for the project. We will collect from anywhere in Southeast England (if it is not in our area, we will pass it on to the nearest project).

We will be delighted to provide receipts for donation. All of our donors receive certificates for their waste materials. We also try to help them with any advertising to promote their business. If your firm throws out any clean waste or damaged goods please give us a call and we will come down and turn your waste into art and provide you with a special certificate to show our thanks.

We encourage donors to publicise their support to the project.

During 2005, the Children’s S.C.R.A.P. Project saved from the landfill 110 tonnes of material collected and distributed between all our member groups to improve their education and raise awareness of conservation of the environment.

Help us help the community

  • In 2006 we increased the amount of material we collected to the record figure of 130 tonnes.
  • In 2007 we were able to increase our collections and expand our collection area due to increased funding so that over 200 tonnes were collected.
  • In 2008, 2009 and 2010 we have continued to increase our collections and expand our network of suppliers.
